Orange retribution

So I'm doing a commission for a friend as well and he is very keen on a bright orange Ret army. I don't mean a strong earthy orange, he wants bright and punchy.

Long story short? Trying to balance a color that intense is not the most enjoyable exercise I've done. I think I've managed it though, at least on the casters. I was done a favor with the bases he chose - they are large enough to have a significant balancing factor of their own.

Overall I'm really happy with the effect. Against all my better judgement I actually think it worked!

These were also the first things I tried airbrushing. The faces on the bases have all been airbrushed.

Warjack update

So the last of this lot of warjacks is done, 4 infantry models and this round of cryx is finished. I'll be squeezing in some quick Ret models for another mate before more cryx!

WIP on the jacks

So the warjacks are still progressing. I haven't taken a photo of all at this point but there are two death chickens, Erebus, Malice and Nightmare.

Still very happy with how the two-brush blending is going. I can see that getting better. Yet to add glow effects to these guys though.

Thrall update

Still a solid WIP (stupid Christmas lack-of-time), but coming along nicely.

Also for the same job as the deathjack. Again, really happy with how the cryx is coming out. That's a good thing coz there is a lot of cryx to go!

Now that I found a new app that doesn't kill the photos so much you'll hopefully see more updates.

I think the glow could have been a bit more thorough, but really happy with how it turned out.
